Green Spa Girl - Company Message
Questions for the Spa/Salon...What you need to know before you go.
What products are used?
Green Spa Girl uses organic, natural and non-toxic products in facial services from the Florida based company, Starflower Essentials.  Local honey, seasonal fruits and vegetables are also incorporated into many services.
Please inform us if you suffer from allergies that may be used in your facial such as essential oils.

Will the therapist be penalized if I don't buy a product?
Unfortunately in some spas, the therapist has a sales quota they must meet each week or month. If they don't, they must pay a fine which comes out of their pay check. When a therapist has has to meet strict sales quotas, you'll most likely end up hearing a high pressure sales pitch during the majority of your facial instead of drifting off into relaxing bliss.
Green Spa Girl doesn't have a sales quota and will never pressure a client to buy anything, but will gladly recommend products and home care.

How long is the treatment?
On the Green Spa Girl menu you will find the actual length of the treatment listed for body treatments and facials, waxing time varies depending on the amount of hair and if this is the first wax for the client.

What is the cancellation policy?
Things like school functions, forgotten dental appointments and sickness happen. It is best to give a 24 hour notice if you have to cancel your appointment. Remember to respect the time of the people who are taking care of you and if you can't make the appointment, even if it is 15 minutes before it starts, at least call so your therapist won't be waiting around for you to show up. If a client makes a habit of not showing up for scheduled appointments, we will request that services are prepaid and the client will not be refunded for a prepaid appointment canceled without a 24 hour notice.

Do I have to give a credit card to hold my appointment?
There are some spas/salons that require a credit card to reserve your appointment. This insures the spa/salon will get their money if you keep the appointment or not. While I do not agree with people making appointments and not showing up, I'm not comfortable with a business having my credit card information on file and charging fees to it.
Green Spa Girl does not require a credit card to hold an appointment.

Should I leave a tip?
Yes, if you enjoyed the treatment. Most therapists get paid 30 - 50% commission on each service, some are paid hourly. A therapist who works for his/herself makes 100% and much of that goes to supplies, rent, advertising, etc. It is customary to tip 10 - 20% and it will be very appreciated.

Do I have to fill out personal information?
Your therapist needs to make sure there are no contraindications that would interfere with the service. If you are uncomfortable about letting a spa/salon know all your medical history, ask your doctor and he can let you know if the treatments are okay. Things you do want to disclose; you have cancer, pregnant, diabetes, taking accutane, antibiotics or any topical medications, had a recent peel are just to name a few. To see a list of medications, see waxing page.
A spa/salon is not allowed to sell or profit from your information as these forms are confidential. You can always share the information verbally with your therapist once you are in the treatment room, if you don't want to write it down.

What do I wear for a treatment?
Facials are done on a facial bed lying down. Clients disrobe privately to their comfort level and lie between warmed blankets. Facials normally include a shoulder, neck and arm massage, this is harder to do when a client is wearing a shirt or bra, so it's best to remove those. Clients are always draped and covered. For a mini facial, microderm or peel, clients lie on top of the bed, there is no massaging and no need to disrobe.
For a waxing appointment, bring in shorts for a leg wax. Disposable panties are provided for bikini waxes and body treatments.

Do I really need to be there early?
Yes! It is so important to arrive early, at least 15 minutes. This isn't your doctor's office where you may wait for up to an hour for your scheduled appointment time. Spas and Salons run on a clock and if you are late you run the risk of your appointment being canceled or all of your therapist's/stylist's appointments running late because of you. Arriving early allows you to relax for a few moments before your service starts.
